Mercury Venus Retrograde Lunar Solar Eclipse

March 2025 is busy. I’m going to touch on four major events unfolding over the next few weeks, but honestly all of March. All the key dates are listed above for Venus & Mercury Retrograde, Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, New Moon Solar Eclipse for March 2025

I’ll be diving into each topic mentioned in the title, plus something I don’t often bring up in my everyday blogs, the *Sabian Symbols. What’s fascinating is that these major events are happening at the 10th and 11th degrees of Aries, which is a big deal. I’ll explain why as we go, so keep reading!

Venus & Mercury Retrograde in Aries: A Time for Reflection and Redirection

When Venus and Mercury both retrograde in Aries around 9–10°, we’re called to slow down and take a closer look at our actions, choices, and personal direction. Aries energy is bold, impulsive, and all about self-assertion but these retrogrades shift the focus, asking us to pause and reassess.

Mercury retrograde in Aries stirs up questions about how we communicate. Are we being too blunt? Too reactive? Or are we holding back when we should be speaking up? At the same time, Venus retrograde in Aries has us rethinking what (and who) we truly desire. Are we chasing something that actually aligns with our values, or just getting caught up in the moment?

Mercury retrograde in Aries has a way of shaking up our usual patterns of speech, thought, and decision-making. Aries is bold and instinctive, preferring to charge ahead rather than look back—but retrograde energy forces a pause. This can bring communication challenges, where impulses override careful thought, leading to misunderstandings or hastily spoken words we later regret. The usual Aries confidence might suddenly be replaced with uncertainty, making us second-guess our choices.

But rather than seeing this as a frustrating slowdown, we can use it as a time to refine our approach. Instead of rushing into new projects or big decisions, this is about reviewing unfinished business, reworking old ideas, and strengthening our inner voice. When Mercury moves forward again, we’ll be clearer, more intentional, and ready to take action with confidence.

Venus retrograde in Aries pulls us into deep reflection—especially when it comes to the heart, our values, and financial priorities. Aries is a sign that knows what it wants and isn’t afraid to go after it, often prioritizing personal desires over collaboration. But with Venus moving backward here, we’re asked to pause and question: Are we acting too independently in relationships, or have we been losing ourselves trying to gain someone else’s approval?

This retrograde stirs up the tension between self-interest and partnership, making past choices in love and money feel more significant. Old flames may resurface not necessarily for reconciliation, but to shine a light on unresolved patterns or emotional blind spots. Financially, past decisions could come up for review, revealing where we may have overspent, undervalued ourselves, or made impulsive commitments.

Rather than rushing into new relationships or major financial moves, this is a time for introspection. What do we truly desire? What do we value most? Venus retrograde isn’t about immediate action, it’s about getting clear so that when we do move forward, we do so with confidence and alignment.

Mercury and Venus retrograding into Pisces

As both planets move back into Pisces, the tone of reflection deepens. Aries operates with a fiery and straightforward energy, whereas Pisces introduces a softer, more fluid influence. This transition from a sign of action to a sign of surrender shifts the focus from external decisions to internal wisdom.

Mercury retrograding into Pisces (March 29, 2025) brings a more intuitive, dream-like quality to our thoughts. Our minds may feel foggier, yet insights can come through subconscious channels, through dreams, meditation, or moments of deep contemplation. Instead of seeking immediate clarity, we are encouraged to trust the process and allow answers to emerge in their own time.

Similarly, Venus moving into Pisces (March 27, 2025) calls for emotional reevaluation. If Aries has been about asserting personal desires, Pisces reminds us to connect with compassion.

In navigating this period, patience and self-awareness are key. It’s natural to feel frustrated when things don’t progress as quickly as we’d like, but retrogrades are reminders that reflection is just as valuable as action. Rather than pushing ahead recklessly, we are given the gift of time to reassess and refine. Mercury and Venus both challenge us to question our automatic responses to words, to desires, to relationships, and to ourselves. If we embrace this period with a willingness to listen, both internally and externally, we will emerge on the other side with renewed clarity, a stronger sense of purpose, and a deeper connection to our own truth.

ECLIPSES

We’ve got a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse happening on the same day of Mercury retrograde, so seeing what truly needs our attention is practically guaranteed. However, I’ll cover the eclipse in a separate blog and video soon. I just wanted to mention it because it’s happening at the same time as Mercury’s retrograde, and since it’s in Virgo, paying attention to the details is going to be crucial especially with everything else I’m covering here.

Now, let’s move on to the New Moon Solar Eclipse at 9° Aries on March 29th. Will look at this Sabian Symbol for 9° Aries further on. This energy will influence not only the eclipse but also the Mercury retrograde, so let’s dive into what that means. I will also have a separate blog and video about the Solar Eclipse when we get closer.

New Moon Solar Eclipse at 9° of Aries March 29, 2025

The Solar Eclipse at 9° Aries on March 29, 2025, is a powerful reset point, bringing themes of bold beginnings, independence, and decisive action. While we have already covered what Aries is in this blog the New Moon Solar Eclipse is a fresh reminder that Aries energy is fiery, assertive, and ready to charge ahead, making this eclipse a catalyst for change, especially in areas where we need to step into leadership or take initiative.

Since Mercury and Venus are also retrograde at this time, there’s a push to rethink our approach before diving in. This eclipse isn’t just about impulsive action, it’s about clarity, courage, and aligning with what truly drives us. With Aries' warrior spirit leading the way, this is a moment to embrace new opportunities, but with a touch of strategy and self-awareness.

Personally, I also like to take stock of what’s happening around me. Journaling about current events can be just as valuable as setting intentions sometimes, it’s not about forcing a plan but observing the shifts. Right now, there are a lot of moving parts, and no one really knows where things will land. Make plans, but stay open to change.

So we have covered Venus and Mercury retrograde in Aries and Pisces with the March eclipses.  Now let’s do the Sabian symbol degrees.

*Venus retrograde at 11° Aries – “The Ruler of a Nation” Sabian Symbols

This degree embodies leadership, power, and the responsibility that comes with influence. There is a natural ability to take charge and guide others, but this path is not without its challenges. Leadership at this level requires strength, resilience, and a keen awareness of both allies and adversaries. Those influenced by this degree often find themselves in positions of authority or decision-making, where their actions shape not just their own lives but the lives of many. However, with power comes opposition, and this energy calls for discernment, strategy, and a deep understanding of trust. The warrior spirit of Aries thrives in moments of high pressure, yet this degree also carries a lesson—leadership is not just about personal ambition but about the responsibility that power demands.

Core Themes of the 11th Degree of Aries

  1. Leadership & Authority – This degree suggests a natural ability to lead, whether in personal life, community, or on a larger scale. But leadership is not just about holding power; it’s about making wise decisions that benefit the collective.

  2. Challenges & Opposition – With influence comes resistance. Those with this degree in their chart may face trust issues, competition, or even hidden rivals. Not everyone supports change, and true leadership requires navigating these tensions with skill and awareness.

  3. The Warrior’s Path – Aries, ruled by Mars, brings an unstoppable drive. This energy thrives in high-pressure situations and does not back down from a challenge. However, unchecked ambition can lead to recklessness, making it crucial to balance action with strategy.

  4. Power & Responsibility – This degree reminds us that power, when used wisely, can bring transformation, but when misused, can lead to downfall. Leadership is not just about seizing control—it’s about earning trust and being accountable for the impact of one’s choices.

As we navigate this moment in history, the theme of leadership who holds power, how it’s used, and the shifts happening in authority is becoming more visible. Think about your own life: Where are you being called to step up? What responsibilities are being placed on your shoulders? And how are you handling the weight of your own influence?

When Venus stations at 11° Aries before turning retrograde, it amplifies the themes of power, leadership, and the courage to stand for what truly matters. This isn’t just about authority, it’s about leading with heart, strategy, and integrity. Venus reminds us that strength isn’t solely about force; it’s also about knowing when to unite, when to negotiate, and when to hold the line. And in this moment, the feminine voice is unmistakable. Women, in particular, are stepping forward, challenging outdated systems, and refusing to be silenced. As Venus moves from bold, independent Aries back into the depths of Pisces—only to return to Aries once more the energy intensifies, calling us to embrace both resilience and reflection. Whether this shift is happening externally in the world or internally within ourselves, one thing is clear: the momentum is building, and change is already in motion.

*10° Aries: "A Teacher Gives New Symbolic Forms to Traditional Images"

This degree carries a powerful blend of innovation and reverence for the past, embodying the role of a bridge between tradition and modern understanding. It is an energy of transmutation, taking something well-established, seeing its deeper meaning, and presenting it in a way that resonates with contemporary life.

Core Themes of the 10th degree Aries

  1. Re-framing Tradition – This degree is about taking the wisdom of the past and giving it fresh life, often in a way that is more accessible to others. It represents a natural teacher or mentor who recognizes the core truth in old systems but adapts them for new generations.

  2. Visionary Thinking –This energy is both innovative and forward-looking, yet it respects the wisdom of the past. Rather than discarding tradition, it refines and adapts it to better serve the present and future.

  3. Translating Abstract Concepts – People or energies influenced by this degree have a gift for turning esoteric, complex, or symbolic knowledge into something that others can understand. This can manifest in art, writing, teaching, or leadership, particularly in fields like philosophy, spirituality, or cultural studies.

  4. Authority in Knowledge – There is a mastery here, a need to understand something deeply before presenting it in a new way. The teacher archetype is strong, but this isn’t just about passing on facts; it’s about presenting ideas in a way that reaches and inspires people.

It feels like the whole world is trying to learn something from the past, and these transits make it clear we’re living through a key moment in history, one that people will look back on in the future as a key turning point for humanity.

Take a moment to reflect on what’s unfolding in your own life. What are the major themes showing up for you right now?

I know this was a lot trust me, it took me hours to put together! So thank you for sticking with me and for supporting my work. I truly appreciate it.

*For clarity Astrologers begin counting degrees from zero, so when we refer to the 10th degree of a zodiac sign, it actually corresponds to the 11th degree.
* The Sabian Symbols are a set of 360 symbolic images, one for each degree of the zodiac, channeled by Marc Edmund Jones and Elsie Wheeler in 1925. They provide deeper, intuitive meanings for each degree, offering insight into astrology beyond technical aspects, often used for interpretation in natal charts, transits, and spiritual reflection.
